A former Governor of Kwara state and Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Dr. Bukola Saraki has bared his mind on the real reasons why he and his sibling, Sen. Gbemisola Rukayat Saraki are always at loggerheads politically.
Bukola Saraki, who was talking to the top echelon of the editorial team of the PremiumTimes, a popular online medium, disclosed that politics and differences in aspirations are the major stumbling block to a smooth relationship between him and his sister.
When he was asked why he was unable to convince his siblings to defect with him to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Bukola said everyone of his siblings have their lives to leave, and he could not stop them from having ambitions and political aspirations, however different from his.
Saraki, who refuted claims that Laolu and Tope Saraki are also into politics, disclosed that there is nothing strange in the difference of opinion between him and his sister, insisting that the both of them have never agreed politically before, even after their father tried to broker peace between the two of them.
“First of all, I only have one sibling that is in politics. This is not the first time that we are having different political views with my other sibling that is in politics. It is not abnormal. It happens all over. We all have our own different political aspirations and wishes.”
But at the same time, with the issues on the ground we might have different views and that is the beauty of democracy.”
Attempt by E-kwara to get the response of Sen. Gbemisola Saraki proved abortive as her private number remained unavailable as at the time of filing this report.
